In most fleets, tires are checked when a workshop sees the vehicle or when something has already gone wrong. In between, the driver is the only person who sees the tires every day, but what he sees is rarely recorded in a way anyone can use.
From a glance to a record
The Inspection Tool guides the driver through the inspection in a chat, step by step. It starts with a photo of the licence plate: the system recognises the vehicle and its axle layout. Then the chat goes tire by tire, with a sidewall photo and a tread photo for each, and an example photo for every position, including the hard-to-reach inner tires of a twin axle.
The inspection in three steps
Plate and mileage
The driver photographs the plate and the mileage display. The vehicle is recognised.
Tire by tire
Every axle is covered. For damage, the driver answers yes or no and picks the type: cut or crack, foreign object, deformation or uneven wear.
Summary
The chat ends with a summary and flags any damage for a check before the next route. The full report reaches the fleet cockpit.
What changes for the fleet
A finding no longer depends on someone remembering to mention it. It lands in Fleet Management, next to findings on brakes, windscreen and lighting, for tractor and trailer separately. When several findings appear, the system suggests what to bundle into one workshop visit and what can be done at once, such as topping up air.
Legal minimum tread depth and inspection rules follow the country where the vehicle is, not only where it is registered. For a fleet that crosses borders every week, that is the difference between a rule on paper and a rule that is checked.
Telematics welcome, not required
Telematics and sensor data, for example TPMS and GPS, are connected as an additional data source. Manual inspection by the driver is a full way to record findings and does not depend on them. 4 telematics systems are connected today, and we build no hardware of our own.
For wholesalers: a service for your fleet customers
Wholesalers can offer Fleet Management to their own fleet customers. You stay the contract partner, the fleets are your customers, and the inspections and tire files run on the same platform as your dealer shop.
Before the first driver starts
Settle three things: correct axle layouts for every vehicle, a decision for each damage type whether the vehicle may continue, and a person who receives the findings. The checklist below goes through all of it.
